Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
On June 3rd 2019, Liz approached Steve as a cycling coach, stating she had a dream of going to the paralympics as a paracyclist. There were a few problems to overcome first. Liz has had Multiple Sclerosis since she was 14 and was in and out of a wheelchair not to mention she could not ride a BIKE! Fast forward to now- Liz and Steve have travelled the world and Liz has competed in more than 100 national and international cycling races including 4 world cups. This year they both represented New Zealand at the Cycling World Championships in Scotland.
How did they do this? It certainly hasn't been easy! Liz has have had to overcome many challenges; life threatening illnesses, accidents, MS relapses, frustration, setbacks and so much more, but every time, They have had to work hard together to reassess their goals, TEST< TRAIN< RACE and REPEAT!
It has taken a lot of mental and physical work to keep going forward with this dream. Together they have formed FITLAB PHOENIX PROJECT. To help others achieve their dreams.
